Wilmington is a beautiful place, and no one knows that better than our local photographers. This is your opportunity to participate in a local exhibition celebrating our town and its unique characteristics captured on film.

WHAT TO ENTER

You may enter up to three images featuring some element of Wilmington. It can be your favorite depiction of city life, an iconic building or landmark, or breathtaking scene from nature. Images must be taken within the city limits of Wilmington within the last 24 months. Photos including people are allowed (see item 3 under Usage Rights).

All photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. HDR images are acceptable.

Entries must be printed and matted and/or framed, wired and ready to hang, 8×10 minimum size.  Larger entries are welcome.

HOW TO ENTER

All images must be submitted to the Main Street Office at 63 West Main Street by Wednesday, February 27, at 4 pm.

THE EXHIBITION – Hosted by Wilmington Public Library

A public exhibition of your work will begin on Tuesday, March 5, at 10 am and will continue during normal library business hours through March 31, 2019. 

A special “Business After Hours” will be hosted by the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce on Friday March 8 beginning at 6 pm . This event will be open to Chamber Members and invited guests.

JUDGING

A “Community Favorite” will be chosen by paper ballot at the Library. Voters will be encouraged to judge photos based on originality, artistic merit, and subject matter.  The Community Favorite will be announced on Wednesday March 27, 2019.

USAGE RIGHTS

1. Submission of photos signifies that you, the photographer, (copyright holder) grants Main Street Wilmington non-exclusive use for its promotional activities, without any remuneration being due. Photo will be credited to the photographer.

2. Your participation in the contest gives Main Street Wilmington consent to re-post your image across several digital and print platforms, and to use it in promotional media indefinitely.

3. If you choose to include people in your submission, you are responsible for obtaining the necessary releases from the individuals depicted and must be able to provide copies of those releases upon request.
